Battery lifetime is a key impediment to long-lasting low power sensor nodes and networks thereof. Energy harvesting—conversion of ambient energy into electrical energy—has emerged as a viable alternative to battery power. Indeed, the harvested energy mitigates the dependency on battery power and can be used to transmit data. However, unfair data delivery delay and energy expenditure among sensors remain important issues for such networks. We study performance of sensor networks with mobile sinks: a mobile sink moves towards the transmission range of the different static sensor nodes to collect their data. We propose and analyse a Markovian queueing system to study the impact of uncertainty in energy harvesting, energy expenditure, data acquisition and data transmission. In particular, the energy harvesting sensor node is described by a system with two queues, one queue corresponding to the battery and the other to the data buffer. We illustrate our approach by numerical examples which show that energy harvesting correlation considerably affects performance measures like the mean data delay and the effective data collection rate.  相似文献

The thiol pKa and standard redox potential of mycothiol, the major low‐molecular‐weight thiol cofactor in the actinomycetes, are reported. Organic materials for near‐infrared (NIR) photodetection are in the focus for developing organic optical‐sensing devices. The choice of materials for bulk‐type organic photodetectors is limited due to effects like high nonradiative recombination rates for low‐gap materials. Here, an organic Schottky barrier photodetector with an integrated plasmonic nanohole electrode is proposed, enabling structure‐dependent, sub‐bandgap photodetection in the NIR. Photons are detected via internal photoemission (IPE) process over a metal/organic semiconductor Schottky barrier. The efficiency of IPE is improved by exciting localized surface plasmon resonances, which are further enhanced by coupling to an out‐of‐plane Fabry–Pérot cavity within the metal/organic/metal device configuration. The device allows large on/off ratio (>1000) and the selective control of individual pixels by modulating the Schottky barrier height. The concept opens up new design and application possibilities for organic NIR photodetectors.  相似文献

Substrate activity screening (SAS) was presented a decade ago by Ellman and co‐workers as a straightforward methodology for the identification of fragment‐sized building blocks for enzyme inhibitors. Ever since, SAS and variations derived from it have been successfully applied to the discovery of inhibitors of various families of enzymatically active drug targets. This review covers key achievements and challenges of SAS and related methodologies, including the modified substrate activity screening (MSAS) approach. Special attention is given to the kinetic and thermodynamic aspects of these methodologies, as a thorough understanding thereof is crucial for successfully transforming the identified fragment‐sized hits into potent inhibitors.  相似文献

The (2 w )! reversible transformations on w wires, i.e. reversible logic circuits with w inputs and w outputs, together with the action of cascading, form a group, isomorphic to the symmetric group S 2 w . Therefore, we investigate the group S n as well as one of its subgroups isomorphic to S n/2 × S n/2. We then consider the left cosets, the right cosets, and the double cosets generated by the subgroup. Each element of a coset can function as the representative of the coset. The coset can then be considered as the set of all group elements that differ from the representative by merely multiplying (either to the left or to the right or to both sides) by an arbitrary element of the subgroup. Different choices of the coset space and different choices of the coset representatives lead to six different syntheses for implementing an arbitrary reversible logic operation into hardware. Evaluation of all six methods, by means of three different cost functions (gate cost, switch cost, and quantum cost), leads to a best choice.  相似文献

The 4-alkoxybenzoic acids are well-known liquid crystals showing several mesophases(nematic,smectic C phase or both)depending on the alkoxy chain length and whereby the rigid core of the mesogen is formed by intermolecular hydrogen bonds.In this paper it is shown that the thermal behaviour of lanthanide salts of 4-hexyloxybenzoic acids depends on the lanthanide ion(Ln=La,Pr,Nd,Sm,Eu).The lanthanum(Ⅲ)and praseodymium(Ⅲ)4-hexyloxybenzoates exhibit a smectic A mesophase.No mesophase is found for the corresponding compounds of heavier lanthanides.The thermal properties of the lanthanide(Ⅲ)4-hexyloxybenzoates were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),polarising thermo-optical microscopy and synchrotron X-ray radiation.  相似文献

Individual yeast cells can be successfully isolated and recultured on plates with a new isolation method making use of optical trapping with infrared laser light. The cells can be selected on morphological criteria by high resolution microscopy. The isolation device is constructed from two coverslips separated by spacers, in which selected cells are transferred to a plastic capillary, using the optical trap. To test the procedure, selection experiments were done with a mixture of two Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains, distinguishable both in fluorescence microscopy and on agar plates. These experiments showed that only selected cells were isolated, and close to 100% of the isolated stationary-phase cells formed colonies on agar plates, indicating a high recovery. A lower recovery was obtained with exponential-phase cells, possibly because of a higher sensitivity to laser irradiation. Applications for this method may include the isolation of mutants with altered morphology and the isolation of subpopulations of yeast cultures, for their separate investigation or for the initiation of pure cultures.  相似文献

This paper presents the general and analytical solution of a fourth-order lumped element model (LEM) to describe human body model (HBM) electrostatic discharge (ESD) testers including the main tester parasitic elements. The analytical fitting to the LEM of experimentally obtained HBM pulse data is a new scientifically justified tool to determine HBM tester parasitic elements. The impact of the test board capacitance on HBM testing is demonstrated and explained. Furthermore, the MIL 883C/3015.71 and EOS/ESD S5.1-19912 Standards on HBM testers are evaluated upon their selectivity to the test board capacitance. Finally, recommendations to improve HBM tester specifications regarding their selectivity to the parasitic test board capacitance are formulated  相似文献
